The Book of Eli movie was directed by Albert Hughes and Allen Hughes, and was written by Gary Whitta. The movie, the book of Eli was released January 2010.

The Book of Eli is a novel of one man’s journey of strong faith in God. He was walking across the desert with worn shoes and dirty clothing for thirty years after the apocalypse of war, carrying his back pack with him as he journeyed west. Inside his back pack there were three items and one of them was very important, the other two were a sharp blade and shotgun to protect himself from getting killed. Eli was played by Denzel Washington, a man with faith who believed that he was chosen by God to protect and carry the book to a safe place. Eli just continued his journey and he stopped in lawless town, where an evil man named Carnegie, who’s played by Gary Oldman, a ruthless warrior who was looking for a bible, like the one that Eli’s had in his back pack. Carnegie for many years had been searching for this book and he would kill just to have it in his position. Eli had a strong belief that the God would protect him, and as he was leaving Carnegie’s men started firing from behind and yet all the bullets did not hit Eli, because the book was in his backpack.

Eli believed in his heart that the scriptures of the bible were true, so he walked by faith and not by sight, and he did not fear evil due to his strong faith. Carnegie tried to kill Eli a few times, but he did not succeed. The girl who accompanied Eli, her name was Solara who’s played by Mila Kunis. Solara was a daughter of Carnegie’s mistress. Solara would obey Carnegie and do whatever he asked her to do to protect her helpless blind mother. Carnegie demanded Solara, to sleep with Eli to get information regarding the book. And she did try to seduce Eli, but he rejected her. She confesses to Eli that Carnegie will hurt her mother if she won’t do it what he asked her to do. Therefore, Eli had no choice but to let her spend the night in his room without romance. Carnegie had high hopes that Solara would get the information from Eli regarding the very important book, (the Bible). The next morning Carnegie questioned Solara, but she did not have the information he wanted to hear, he got very angry, he called his men to get Eli from his room.When they opened  the bedroom door Eli was gone. Carnegie and his men started to chased Eli, they brought all kinds of weapons with them. Solara kept following Eli, she wanted to accompany him, but Eli said no” but she insisted. They both found an old house and they stopped and knocked on the door, the older couple opened the door and with in seconds Eli and Solara, they’re both crushing down in the dungeon! The old Couple had a changed of heart, they gave food and drink. Eli and Solara were in a hurry to leave but it’s too late because Carnegie and his men were close, there wasn’t enough time to escape. They have no choice but to go back inside the house and fight Carnegie. The old couple did their best to help fight until their last breath. Carnegie had his knife on Salara’s neck, he promised to slash her neck if Eli wouldn’t give him the book, so he told Carnegie where the book was to save Solara from getting killed. Carnegie left Eli almost dead and his men took Solara with them. She was brave enough to be able to strangle the driver which causes the truck flip over a few times, and she was able to get out the truck unharmed. Carnegie was full of joy when the book was in his position. However, when he opened the book he was surprised to find that it was not written in a manner that he could read it, it was written in Braille, (for the blind)! Apparently God had planned for the Bible to reach a particular place and so he wrote the scriptures on the tablet of Eli’s heart.

The story is well written, and Denzel Washington did a great job in this movie the book of Eli. A great movie to watch!
