The lightning thief, Percy Jackson and the Olympians movie was produced and directed by Chris Columbus, was also directed the great movie, “Harry Potter.” Rich Riordan was the author of the novel, the lightning thief, which ranked ninth on the New York Times best seller list for children books.

Percy Jackson & the Olympians, the Lightning Thief movie, is based on a 12 year old student who was studying Greek Mythology. He is known as Percy Jackson, and was diagnosed with “ADHD,” who’s played by Logan Lerman. Percy went to visit the Museum of Metropolitan of Art with his best friend Grover. A woman grabs Percy and leads him to another room away from his friend. This woman turns into a huge monstrous creature and then attacks Percy demanding to give her the lightning bolt. The innocent young kid had no idea what the creature was talking about. When his friend and Mr. Brunner arrived in the scene, the creature almost killed Percy, had disappeared. Finally his friend Grover had confessed to Percy that he is not only his best friend but also his protector, because he knew all along that Percy is the son of the Greek god, the “Poseidon.” Grover had told him the truth that his disabilities are natural for demigods, also known as half-blood. Mr. Brunner a Latin teacher in a wheelchair who’s played by Pierce Brosnan gave Percy a pen and told him it’s a powerful weapon and to use it to protect himself. Percy’s response holding the pen in his hand, mumbling,” a pen to protect myself from my enemies?” In his mind saying you’ve got to be kidding,” he thought it was more of an insult from the teacher. Grover had told Percy that his life is in danger, that pronto! They had to find a safe place for him. Percy went home and his friend his protector, went with him. They got home and convinced his mother to go with them to a safer place, but her demanding despicable boyfriend tried to stop them. His protector Grover had to knock him out, before they could get away. Percy’s mother Sally knew a safe place for her son, a place called half-blood camp.” Unfortunately for Sally she couldn’t save herself because she was a full blooded human, so she couldn’t get inside the camp. Percy‘s mother was taken by the monstrous creature, and he thought his mother was killed.

Percy Jackson and his friend were in the half-blood camp, and for the second time he met Mr. Brunner, only this time he was not in the wheelchair but his body was half human half horse,” a Centour,” and he is also a director of the half-blood activities. Percy meets Luke who volunteered to train Percy for battle, and later he betrayed him. The son of Poseidon was accused of stealing Zeus’ lightning bolt, the most powerful weapon ever created. A gifted innocent 12 year old Greek Mythology student had to leave the Camp when he found out his mother was still alive and she was being held captive in the under world. Percy’s protector Grover, and the daughter of Goddish Athena, went with him to rescue his mother. Percy learned that in order to get inside the underworld, he had to find 3 special blue pearls. In their journey they encountered Madusa, and anybody who would look at her eyes would be turned him into a statue. Percy fought medusa and won; he cut her head off and took it with them and used it as their weapon on their journey. Now Percy has no idea that the lightning bolt was inside his weapon that Luke gave him. They rescued his mother and discovered the lightning bolt. Percy was on his way to return the lightning bolt to prove his innocence, but Luke, the ambitious selfish young man, had tried to stop Percy. Both of them had a fierce battle, and the honest person with the good heart won the battle. Percy being a hero, had to return the lightning bolt to Zeus, as Zeus planned to make war with his brother if the lightning bolt was not returned with in 14 days. Percy saves the world from war, and he and proven himself innocent from stealing the lightning bolt. It is a great movie to watch for the entire family.
